If you look at any TV show or movie with Asian representation, it is likely that the Asian character is intelligent and hard-working. They are the “model minority.” Some popular examples are Big Bang Theory, Crazy Rich Asians, Never Have I Ever—the list continues on.
Asians in these shows are smart and work hard to achieve their success, usually in a STEM (science, tech, engineering, or math) profession. They are born smart and crazy about getting good grades to the point that they don’t pay any attention to friendships or relationships. In many ways, they are uptight and no fun.
I remember when I first heard about Tinder. I promised myself I wouldn’t download the app. For some reason, I thought nobody would swipe right on me. Everybody around me was white, and I was not. I didn’t think anyone would want to date me.
But the opposite happened.
I had many matches. Perhaps too many. The first messages I got from these men made me uncomfortable.
I have never tried a woman like you before. Will you be my first experience?
You look so exotic, I love that.
Asian girls are my favorite. They’re so naughty!

I am a digital nomad from Delhi, India. I love writing about writing, entrepreneurship, life and more.
Here are some of my stories you should check out:
“Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for.” — Jo March, Little Women
When I first got admitted into a women’s college, I was apprehensive. I had heard so many awful things about such institutions. “They are boring.” “Girls are mean to each other for no reason at all.” “You are going to regret it.” …
One of the first memorable moments in my life when I moved to a new country was when I first stepped outside the airport. I became suddenly hyper-aware of my skin color and my accent.
At first, I didn’t think it was going to matter much. I was there for higher education and since I was going to live on a university campus, I was going to be surrounded by educated people. Surely, I wasn’t going to be discriminated against in such an environment.
But I was proven wrong quite early. One of the memories that stand out is when…
Being happy is not a competition. Or at least, I thought it wasn’t. But Google tells me there is a man who has won this race and been named the happiest person in the world. In fact, there has been scientific research done to prove this claim.
“The scans showed that when meditating on compassion, Ricard’s brain produces a level of gamma waves — those linked to consciousness, attention, learning, and memory — never reported before in the neuroscience literature”, Richard Davidson, the neuroscientist from the University of Wisconsin.
His name is Matthieu Ricard. He is 75 years old and…
So, five days ago Billie Eilish released a new music video called ‘Lost Cause’. The video shows Billie dancing around with her friends and it looks like she is having a good time. As always, people have opinions about her. Some people are happy that Billie is growing up and embracing herself. While some people are unhappy. Why?
Because Billie is no longer who she used to be.
When I first saw the video, I fell in love with it. I always love videos where a group of women is having fun without caring about anything. …
How many of you have thought about visiting London, Paris, or New York at least once before you die? How many of you want to move to these cities permanently and live like a character from a Hollywood movie? Maybe specifically not these cities but other big cities around you? Have you ever questioned why?
Perhaps you think that life is marginally better in big cities. Watch any popular movie and it’s probably set in a big city. The protagonist lives their best life, they have a glamorous job, they wear the best clothes and have the coolest friends. …
For any kind of business to thrive, it needs to have a good marketing plan. While many creators have amazing ideas on how to build a product, they don’t always have a good marketing plan. No matter how good your product or service is, if people don’t know about it, they won’t buy it.
But marketing can be difficult and it’s easy to get demotivated if you’re not seeing results. So, how do you market your services without getting burnt out?
There are many ways to sell your product to a customer. Many people brag about their products and sometimes…
We all want to be productive. We all want our work to be as perfect as possible. But if our obsession with perfectionism is hurting our creative output, then there’s a problem.
Whenever we start working on a project, we often have a vision of how we want it to look like at the end. While this vision drives us to continue working on our project, if we are too focused on what it should look like, we sometimes don’t discover the possibilities of how it can look like.
Is the sun perfect? Could it be better? Is the weather…
